I don't believe that the Great Reset is a real conspiracy, but I do believe in a stand alone complex - we're drifting towards that destination.

The answer obviously isn't socialism. We're just seeing powerful corporations purchasing power in the government and eradicating competition. It's also not unfettered capitalism: socialism and capitalism converge without intervention anyway.

The best thing is to own property and be as decentralized as possible. It's best if companies (and governments) are smaller. Just because you have a "vote" doesn't mean you have a voice when the representative can use the threat of withholding resources.

I'm from West Virginia and I don't want to live in a company town. But that was the reality for many rural communities in the early 20th century.

Ironically, what helped West Virginia escape from the company town life and have one of the highest home ownership rates in the country (usually 1st or 2nd) were cars.

This meant West Virginians were no longer reliant on living within walking distance of their employer. They could go to another town and compare their options.

They demanded higher wages in lieu of benefits, allowing them greater purchasing power in the economy and the freedom of choice.

The more money in the pocket of individuals, the better. The more they own, the better.
